Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and built for Simon P. Kehoe, son of beloved iron works founder William Kehoe, the estate has been thoughtfully restored to honor every original detail while welcoming up to twelve guests in the kind of style that Savannah does better than anywhere.
Wraparound porch. Formal dining for ten. Original tiger oak mantles with ornately carved faces. Leaded glass windows that throw rainbow prisms across the parlor on sunny afternoons. The Simon is the rare vacation rental that actually lives up to its photographs, and then some.
The location alone would be enough. Just off Lafayette Square in the heart of Savannah's Historic District, the city's best addresses are practically at the front door: the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Hamilton-Turner House, and the Andrew Low House are steps away. Pinkie Masters, McDonough's, and Hitch are around the corner. Walk a few squares south and you'll find Forsyth Park, a weekly farmer's market, and great coffee.
